Club Activities

There are over thirty special interest clubs at Showa, ranging from tennis to martial arts, to broadcasting.
The clubs meet once a week under faculty guidance but are run by the students.

Friendship Group

Friendship Group

Friendship group activities were begun about ninety years ago and are a unique feature of life at Showa.
There are about forty members in each of the thirty six groups, six or so from each grade. The students can make friends from all grades and the older students pass share their to the younger ones in a friendly environment.
The daily responsibility of the groups is to keep the school clean.
There are only a few custodial staff at the school; a large part of the cleaning and maintenance is done daily by the friendship groups.
